Police investigating an arson attack at a Blackpool charity have asked anyone in the area recently offered cheap electrical goods to get in touch.

Burglars broke into Donna's Dream House and set fire to log cabins on 23 December, causing £80,000 damage.

Two 18-year-old men were subsequently arrested and bailed.

The charity, which provides holidays for terminally ill children, was missing electrical items that police think may have been offered for sale.

The charity was forced to close for Christmas after the fire destroyed the office, hot tubs and a sauna at the site.

The cabins were funded by scrap dealer Gary Eastwood, who worked with the charity while he was taking part in Channel 4's Secret Millionaire.

Among the items stolen were several cameras, projectors, CCTV monitors, laptops and phones.

Det Sgt Paddy Dowling said: "The local residents have been left sickened by what has happened.

"I am really keen to speak to anyone who may have been offered some of the electrical items cheap prior to Christmas, or even purchased some of them.

"It may well be that people bought some of the items innocently not knowing that they were in fact stolen."
