Lancashire Pc Thomas Hatton given suspended jail term

A 24-year-old former police officer from Lancashire has been given a suspended sentence for misconduct and data protection offences.

Thomas Hatton, who worked as a Pc in Blackpool, admitted neglecting police duties and disclosing private information from police systems.

He was given an eight month sentence, suspended for two years.

He had also been charged with intent to supply drugs but these offences were ordered to lie on his file.

Mr Hatton was suspended by Lancashire Police in May 2011.
