Motorcyclist dead in Pilling crash named as Carl Green

A man killed when he was thrown from his motorbike in a crash in Lancashire has been named by police.

Carl Green, 47, from Thornton Cleveleys, died in a collision with a car at 12:45 GMT on Sunday in Pilling.

Police believe he was travelling along Lancaster Road, towards the town, when his Suzuki motorbike collided with a VW Passat turning into Gulf Lane.

His daughter Christine Green said: "He was a character that will never be forgotten.

"He died doing what he loved best."

She added: "A big thank you for all the people who helped him at the scene."

Lancashire Police appealed for witnesses to the accident to contact them.
