Police investigating the death of a man found in the street in a Lancashire town are looking for a woman he was with hours before he died.

Ryan Anderton, 18, was discovered by police on Kay Street in Rawtenstall in the early hours of 11 February. It is not yet known how he died.

Lancashire Police said a woman who was with him in the Rhythm Station bar on Station Court could have information.

Police do not believe she was involved in the death.

They have also released CCTV images of cars they need to identify.

Two are taxis that travelled down Kay Street at 03:23 GMT and at 03:27 GMT.

About 10 minutes later, four other cars passed down the street and the drivers of the vehicles may have seen something, police said.

They believe that when the vehicles drove down Kay Street it is possible that Ryan was already laying on the ground.

Det Supt Neil Hunter said: "I would ask the public to look at these images and see if they recognise any of them. In relation to the taxis, it could well be that they have travelled from nearby Burnley or Rochdale and I would ask them to cast their minds back and see if they can remember being in the Rawtenstall area at that time.

"I am also keen to trace the woman who was in the nightclub on the Friday evening. I believe that she could help us build up a more detailed picture of the events prior to Mr Anderton being found."

Two men arrested over the death have been released without charge.
