A lorry flipped on to its side on the M6 motorway in Lancashire, trapping a BMW car underneath.

The HGV blocked all three lanes of the southbound carriageway between Charnock Richard and Leyland.

Both the lorry and the BMW drivers suffered minor injuries in the crash, which happened at about 09:50 GMT.

The M6 was shut southbound for almost six hours between junction 28 Bamber Bridge and junction 29 at Leyland.
