Three men arrested over Nelson explosion

Three men have been arrested after a small explosion on a street in Lancashire.

Police went to Pinfold Place in Nelson on Wednesday after reports of a loud bang and found the remains of an explosive.

A 26-year-old and a 28-year-old from Nelson, and a 26-year-old from Colne were arrested on suspicion of causing an explosion likely to endanger life.

All three have been released on police bail until 21 June.

Det Supt Neil Hunt said it was "extremely fortunate" no-one had been hurt by the explosion.
