A man accused of manslaughter at a Blackpool takeaway has appeared before magistrates.

Allan Glenny, 23, of Clinton Avenue, who is accused of killing Ricky Guest-Binns, 44, was remanded on bail to Preston Crown Court on 31 May.

Mr Guest-Binns was knocked unconscious early on Saturday at the Chicken Express takeaway on Caunce Street. He died in hospital.

Mr Glenny was also charged with common assault.

The dead man's mother Valerie Guest-Binns paid tribute to her son.

"The fact that Ricky has lost his life in this way is absolutely tragic," she said.

"He was still so young and myself and other family members are still in shock and are trying to come to terms with what has happened."
