A man has been remanded in custody accused of murdering a man who was found unconscious in a Lancashire flat.

Andrew Boardman, 53, was discovered on Saturday by police responding to reports of a man being assaulted at a flat in Glen Eldon Road, St Annes.

Mr Boardman was taken to hospital but died on Sunday morning.

Jason Brookes, 22, of Elizabeth Court, Blackpool, was remanded in custody at Blackpool Magistrates' Court to appear in Preston Crown Court on Friday.

A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Boardman died of multiple injuries as a result of a sustained attack.
