Brian Hughes death: Son charged with murder in Darwen

A 31-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his father at a house in Lancashire.

The body of Brian Hughes was found at The Lea, Darwen, in the early hours of Sunday after police were called to a report of an assault.

Police said a post-mortem examination found the 60-year-old died as a result of head injuries.

Anthony Hughes, of no fixed address, is due to appear before Blackburn Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
