Garstang crash cyclist dies in hospital

A 25-year-old cyclist has died the day after a collision with a car on the A6 in Lancashire, police said.

Anthony McDermott was struck by a Honda Jazz as he pulled out of the Crofters Hotel on Preston Lancaster New Road, Garstang at 22:15 BST on Thursday.

Mr McDermott, from Garstang, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital with multiple injuries.

The driver, a 42-year-old from Lancaster, was not hurt but treated for shock.
