A motorcyclist has been convicted of dangerous driving after another biker and his pillion passenger died when they hit a tractor in Lancashire.

Patrick Cresswell, 46, and pillion Suzanne Smith, 25, from Marton in Blackpool, were killed on Mythop Road near Weeton on 9 September.

Daren Leslie, 36, of Rectory Road, Blackpool was found guilty of two charges at Preston Crown Court but cleared of causing their deaths.

Sentencing takes place on 26 February.

The families of Mr Cresswell and Ms Smith said the conviction brought "this horrible incident to an end and both families can now really start the grieving process".

"Sunday 9 September will always be a dark day for everyone involved. Not only did two people lose their lives, but we have all lost a part of us," their statement added.
