Masked knifemen threaten two sisters, aged 12 and 13
Two young sisters were confronted by masked knifemen, who put them in a wardrobe and stole jewellery from their home, police said.
Lancashire Police were called on Monday at 19:45 GMT by a 13-year-old who said three masked men had broken into their home in Rossendale Road, Burnley, through a window.
She and her sister, 12, were threatened with a knife and put in a wardrobe.
Police found gold jewellery worth £10,000 had been stolen.
The two girls have been left "shaken but unhurt" and are being supported by specially-trained officers.
At the time of the incident, their parents had left to visit family nearby, leaving the two girls alone.
Det Insp Jim Elston, of Burnley Police, said the girls reacted with "great courage" and showed resilience in "what must have been a very frightening ordeal".
He appealed for anyone with information to get in touch with police.
