A fire that broke out at a hotel on Blackpool promenade is under control.

The fire on the top floor of the Howard Crest Hotel in Bolton Street started at about 13:40 GMT and eight fire engines were in attendance, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) said.

The hotel is undergoing repairs after being damaged in Thursday's storm and was empty when the fire broke out, police said.

Damping down will continue for next few hours, LFRS said.
