Blackburn man charged with raping teenager

A man has been charged with rape after a teenage girl was attacked near a school in Blackburn.

Michael McQueenie, 27, of Highbury Place, Blackburn, is accused of assaulting the 14-year-old victim, Lancashire Police said.

He is due to appear before Blackburn Magistrates' Court later.

The girl said she was taken into bushes near St James' C of E Primary School on Earl Street, on 6 June, sometime between 18:00 and 21:00 BST.
