Illegal gun surrender extended by Lancashire Police

An opportunity for people to surrender illegally-held guns and ammunition has been extended to a second week.

The campaign by Lancashire Police is aimed at people who wish to hand over antique or unwanted firearms without fear of prosecution.

So far 55 items have been handed into police stations including a stun gun disguised as a torch, several handguns and more than 1,800 ammunition rounds.

Police have now extended the scheme until 23 November.
