Police have released CCTV images of six men they would like to speak to following disorder before a Lancashire football match.

The match at Burnley's Turf Moor ground took place on 13 December and saw the Lancashire side take on Southampton.

Shortly before kick-off, police said a small group of Burnley supporters confronted rival supporters and started fighting.

A man, 22, and two boys aged 17 and 16 have already been arrested and bailed.

Det Insp Martin Melvin said the vast majority of fans "were good spirited and well behaved" but violent behaviour "is wholly unacceptable".

"We cannot afford to let the actions of a minority spoil games like these for the true fans and to behave like this towards fellow football supporters," he added.

"I would urge anyone who recognises any of the six men pictured in the CCTV images to contact us."
