Blackpool siege man Mark Saunders admits gun offences

A man arrested after a nine-hour armed siege at a house in Lancashire has admitted possessing a gun and assault.

Mark Saunders, 40, of Norbreck Road, Blackpool, was arrested after a stand-off with police in September.

Saunders admitted two counts of possessing a firearm, one of possessing a firearm with intent, a threat to kill and a charge of assault on Thursday.

Two counts of attempted murder were left on file. He will be sentenced at Preston Crown Court on 5 March.

Saunders was remanded in custody.
