Man, 72, 'critical' after row with Morecambe door staff

A 72-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after an alleged altercation with a doorman at a pub in Lancashire, said police.

He was found with serious head injuries on Friday evening at the Kings Arms pub in Marine Road, Morecambe, said police.

Police said he was injured as a result of a "low level confrontation" and "not a sustained or violent attack".

A man, 41, of Lancaster was arrested on suspicion of wounding or causing grievous bodily harm without intent.

He has been released on bail until 21 June.
