Two injured as car overturns in crash near Hoghton

Two men have been injured, one seriously, after a car crashed and overturned in Lancashire.

Police were called to Riley Switch Green Road, near Hoghton at 23:30 BST on Sunday after a Renault Clio crashed and ended up on its roof in a field.

A 21-year-old man suffered a head injury, broken wrists and pelvis. His passenger, 20, was left with a broken nose and collar bone, police said.

A second passenger is believed to have made off from the scene.

Both injured men were taken to Royal Preston Hospital although their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road was closed for four hours while the accident was investigated.
