Bacup crash: Tribute to killed Helmshore cyclist

The wife of a cyclist killed in a crash with a car in Lancashire has paid tribute to her "loving husband" who was passionate about cycling.

Michael Parkington, 56, of Helmshore, died when the driver of a Chevrolet Kalos turned into Newchurch Road, Bacup at about 19:00 BST on Wednesday.

Police said he was thrown into the road and suffered serious injuries. He died on Thursday in hospital.

His family said in a statement the father-of-two was "kind and loyal".
