Leeds Bradford Airport and schools hit by heavy snow

Leeds Bradford Airport has reopened after being closed for much of Friday because of heavy snowfall.

However, the airport website warned that adverse weather conditions were still causing some disruption to flight schedules.

Passengers were urged to contact their airline or tour operator before arriving at the airport.

The wintry weather also forced more than 30 schools in Bradford, Wakefield, Kirklees, Halifax and Leeds to close.

West Yorkshire Police said the weather had affected main and minor roads and urged drivers to be cautious.
