Leeds man stabbed fighting off street robbers

A 19-year-old man was stabbed twice as he fought off two street robbers in Leeds, police have said.

The victim was walking along Carlisle Road in Pudsey on Thursday night when two men, one white and one Asian, demanded his iPod at knifepoint.

He punched the Asian man in the face and the white man stabbed him in the chest and in his side. The pair then fled empty-handed towards Fartown.

The injured man was treated at in hospital and discharged on Friday.

West Yorkshire Police urged anyone who witnessed the attack to contact them.
