Leeds Scott Hall post deliveries resume after attacks
Weekend postal deliveries to a Leeds estate have resumed after they were suspended due to attacks on Royal Mail employees by bottle-throwing children.
The company suspended Saturday deliveries to Scott Hall Grove, Scott Hall Walk and Scott Hall Place on 12 and 19 March after several incidents.
It said the level of risk associated with this delivery was unacceptable.
After reviewing the matter and working with local authorities, it said it had decided to reinstate deliveries.
In a letter to residents on the Scott Hall estate, the Royal Mail said: "Please note this will obviously be subject to review if any further incidents of this nature occur."
Meanwhile, West Yorkshire Police said they had identified one of the victims of a bottle attack and found those they believe are responsible.
Insp Matt Davison said: "We have now made contact with the victim and identified those who we believe are responsible for this completely unacceptable behaviour.
"We are currently in the process of taking any necessary action against both those directly involved and their parents or guardians.
"Officers will also be on high-visibility patrol in the area on Saturday when the delivery commences."
