Man charged over Huddersfield assault death

A man has been charged with the manslaughter of a 75-year-old man who died following an assault in Huddersfield.

Police were called to a house in Alder Street, Fartown, on Friday night where Tarseem Singh was found seriously injured outside the property.

He was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where he was pronounced dead.

Jasknwal Rana, 32, of Alder Street, appeared at Huddersfield Magistrates' Court on Monday.

West Yorkshire Police said a post-mortem examination was due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.
