Man in court after stabbing at party in Cleckheaton

A 19-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murder after a disturbance at a house party in West Yorkshire.

Peter Brocklesby, 50, was attacked near his home in Brooklyn Road, Cleckheaton, early on Saturday. He died in hospital from stab wounds, a post-mortem examination found.

Richard Oldroyd of Great Pond Street, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, appeared before Dewsbury Magistrates on Wednesday.

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Leeds Crown Court.
