Hundreds of mourners have attended the funeral of a nine-year-old girl who died after being hit by a car in Leeds.

Shamirah Grant died after the incident in Leopold Grove, Chapeltown on 31 May. Two other girls, aged 13 and 11, were injured.

After a funeral procession on Friday, a musical celebration of the girl's life took place at Harehills Cemetery.

A couple appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court earlier this month charged with causing her death by dangerous driving.

Beatrice Mwamba and Brice Nguetcuessi, both 33 and of Leopold Street, were remanded in custody.

Police still want to speak to anyone who saw a green Vauxhall Astra being driven in the area or the collision itself.
