Wakefield teenagers charged over website posts

Two teenagers who were arrested on suspicion of inciting disorder on social networking websites this week have been charged.

A 19-year-old man from Portobello, Wakefield, has been charged under the Serious Offences Act 2007.

He has been bailed to appear before Wakefield magistrates on 30 August.

A boy aged 15 from Eastmoor, Wakefield, has been charged with offences under the Communications Act and will appear at the town's youth court on 31 August.

A total of 23 people have now been arrested over public disorder in West Yorkshire.

Assistant Chief Constable John Parkinson said: "Officers are working around the clock to identify those responsible for the disorder and other criminal activity we have seen this week so they can be quickly brought to justice."
