Detectives have made a fresh plea to trace a man they want to speak to following a knife attack on a woman and her daughter in Leeds.

Two women, aged 55 and 25, suffered serious injuries during the incident in Bar Lane, Garforth, on 2 August.

West Yorkshire Police said both victims were recovering but one of the women remained in hospital.

Detectives want to trace 40-year-old Leslie Cunningham in connection with the attack.

Det Ch Insp Dean Henson, from the force's homicide and major inquiry team, said: "While our search is very much active I would remind Leslie Cunningham that it's in his interests to contact me.

"I would also like to hear from residents in the Garforth area who may have vital information in connection with this attack.

"I am particularly interested in any sightings of a white male around 6ft 2in tall dressed in a dark blue waist-length sports coat and wearing dark straight-leg jeans."
