Police have released CCTV pictures showing the moments before a man was shot outside a pub in Leeds.

The footage shows the gunman wearing a hooded top shoot at, but miss, the victim outside The Kiln public house in Burmantofts on Thursday.

A 31-year-old man was then chased and shot in the back. He is in a stable condition in hospital.

Police said: "It is only by sheer chance that further people were not injured or killed."

Police, who were called to the incident just before 23:00 BST are appealing for an anonymous caller who may have information about the shooting to call back.

Police said that information would be treated in the "strictest confidence".

Officers believe that many people in the public house on the night of the shooting may have earlier been to a boxing match.

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to contact West Yorkshire Police or Crimestoppers.
