Woman, 90, left 'shocked' at bogus police break-in

Three men claiming to be police officers have broken into a 90-year-old woman's house in West Yorkshire.

The incident happened between 10:00 and 10:30 GMT on Tuesday at a house in Longroyd Street North, Beeston, Leeds.

The men, two thought to be wearing dark stab vests marked "police", forced their way in through the front door.

All three suspects are believed to be in their 20s and of slim build. The two wearing stab vests are thought to be white and the third had olive skin.

After searching the house the men are believed to have left on foot.

They returned to a red-coloured VW Golf which police believe left the area via Dewsbury Road.

The victim was uninjured but had been left "shocked" by the incident and was being cared for by family members, police said.
