Police investigating the disappearance of a West Yorkshire builder have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.

John Hay, 61, from Fenay Bridge, Huddersfield, has not been seen since 15 March.

Police previously said they believed he was in the East Yorkshire area as his white van was seen in Hessle and was later abandoned by the Humber Bridge.

A 63-year-old man from the Netherthong area of Huddersfield is being held on suspicion of murder.

Detectives have asked anyone who saw Mr Hay after 15 March to contact them.

He is described as white, 6ft 4in tall, of average build and with thick white hair.

He was last seen wearing navy or black trousers, a white t-shirt and a gillet.
