Dewsbury man admits raping 15-year-old girl

A rapist has pleaded guilty to a series of attacks on a 15-year-old schoolgirl part-way through his trial.

Mohammed Ali Rehman, 26, of Tanhouse Street, Dewsbury, had been on trial at Leeds Crown Court along with other men who were charged with sex offences.

A jury heard how his victim was repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted during the course of one evening.

Rehman admitted three counts of rape and one of attempted rape. A date for his sentencing has not yet been set.

Video clips showing the naked teenager being indecently touched were shown to the jury during the opening of the trial.

Jury discharged

Another defendant, Faisar Younas, 23, of Textile Street, Dewsbury, admitted sexual activity with a child and the prosecution decided not to pursue a charge of rape against him.

Larasab Hussain, 45, of Headfield Road, Savile Town, Dewsbury, admitted a charge of sexual assault.

The prosecution said it would offer no further evidence against the other defendants who were on trial.

They were Saqib Hussain, 31, of Huddersfield Road, Dewsbury; Hasan Rehman, 18, of Tanhouse Street, and Wahid Hussain, 19, of Broomer Street, Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury.

The jury was discharged from reaching verdicts on those three men.

Rehman, Younas and Larasab Hussain were remanded in custody until their sentencing.
