Man appears in court over Scarborough shooting

A 28-year-old man charged with attempted murder after a shooting in Scarborough has appeared before the town's magistrates.

The man, who was arrested on Tuesday, was also charged with possessing a shotgun with intent to endanger life.

Magistrates remanded him in custody and he is due to appear at Leeds Crown Court next month.

A 36-year-old man underwent surgery for a leg injury after the shooting at a property in Eastfield on Saturday.
