Kings Bingo Hall Shipley destroyed in fire

The former bingo hall in Shipley is to be demolished after flames ripped through the building

A fire has destroyed a derelict former bingo hall in West Yorkshire.

The Kings Bingo Hall on Briggate in Shipley caught fire on Thursday evening and was well alight by the time 30 firefighters arrived.

The A657 was closed in both directions between A6038 Otley Road and B6149 Crag Road. Police said there was no access to Shipley railway station.

The road will remain closed until the building is demolished later on Friday, officers added.
