Leeds murder inquiry after woman found in car dies

A murder inquiry has been opened following the death of a woman 10 days after she was found seriously injured in a car in Leeds.

The 51-year-old woman was found in a parked car in Mexborough Grove, Chapeltown at about 03:00 BST on Sunday 4 August.

She died on Wednesday in Leeds General Infirmary.

A 53-year-old man arrested in connection with the death remains under police guard in the hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
