Police in Leeds name man killed in assault

Police have named a man who died following an assault in the Hyde Park area of Leeds.

Mwila Chitalu, 30, was found in Brudenell Road on Sunday but died later at Leeds General Infirmary.

Police said they were questioning a 20-year-old man from Bradford on suspicion of murder.

Six other people arrested in connection with the attack have been released without charge and three have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Detectives said Mr Chitalu, who lived in the area, is believed to have attended a party at a house in Ash Grove on Saturday.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the force's Homicide and Major Enquiry Team.
