Pakistan air steward faces Leeds flight drugs charge

A 31-year-old air steward has been charged with bringing 2.5 kilos of heroin into the UK on a flight from Pakistan to Leeds.

Syed Shah, from Pakistan, was arrested on Wednesday evening at Leeds Bradford Airport after a Pakistan International Airways flight arrived from Islamabad.

Mr Shah did not enter a plea when he appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear before Leeds Crown Court on 5 December.
