The M62 in West Yorkshire has reopened after a collision involving two HGVs, a van and a car.

The crash happened shortly after 05:20 GMT at junction 31 near Castleford. There were no reports of serious injuries.

The eastbound motorway was closed between junction 30 near Rothwell and J31, but reopened at about 14:55, except for the J31 eastbound exit slip.

The westbound carriageway has also reopened after being partially closed.

Earlier motorists were warned of severe congestion in both directions by West Yorkshire Police

The force said there was a considerable amount of oil on the eastbound carriageway which was contributing to delays in clearing the scene of the crash.
