Rail services have been disrupted after a skip lorry hit and damaged a railway bridge in West Yorkshire.

Police said the bridge on Haigh Lane near Darton was "not safe" following the crash, which happened at about 08:00 GMT.

The road has been closed in both directions and trains between Wakefield and Barnsley have been cancelled.

National Rail said a rail replacement bus service would be in operation for the rest of the day.
