Schoolboy attacked in Crofton by masked gang of youths

A schoolboy was attacked by a masked gang of youths while standing at a bus stop in Wakefield.

The 14-year-old was repeatedly kicked and punched in the head and body by five males wearing balaclavas, police said.

The victim was waiting for a bus in Crofton High Street on Tuesday when he knocked to the ground by the group.

They continued to assault him for five minutes before running off in the direction of The Slipper pub.

He was taken to Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield and later discharged.
