Two Bradford men killed in Halifax lamppost crash

Two men have died after the car they were travelling in crashed into a lamppost.

The 20-year-old driver and a 19-year-old passenger, both from the Queensbury area of Bradford, were killed in the collision on Ovendon Road, Halifax.

The crash happened at about 2200 GMT on Friday, West Yorkshire Police said. A second 19-year-old travelling in the Volkswagen Golf was seriously injured.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Sgt Carl Quinn said: "The VW was seen driving around [Halifax] town centre prior to the collision with a red Vauxhall Astra VXR and we are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the behaviour of either car or the collision itself."
