Missing Gemma Simpson: Man charged with murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who vanished in Leeds 14 years ago.

Gemma Simpson was 23 when she was last seen in the Harehills area on 5 May 2000, when she told a friend she was on her way to visit another friend Huddersfield.

Martin Bell, 44, of St Leonard's Crescent, Scarborough, was arrested in the town on Tuesday.

Mr Bell is due to appear at York Magistrates' Court on Saturday morning.
