Police seek the relatives of Leeds murder victim
Police are trying to trace the relatives of a 38-year-old woman who died after being attacked on a Leeds canal towpath.
West Yorkshire Police said Michaela Heaton was found with "serious head injuries" off Canal Road in Armley on Thursday.
She was taken to Leeds General Infirmary where she later died.
Police said a 53-year-old man arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder remained in custody.
Det Ch Insp Elizabeth Belton said: "We are trying to trace any family of Michaela and I would urge any relatives to come forward.
"I would also again like to appeal to any witnesses to the incident to come forward - and especially anyone who may have seen a man and a woman arguing or the incident itself."
