Leeds fatal car crash pedestrian named

A woman who died after being hit by a car in Leeds has been named.

Amy Lancashire, 23, was struck by a Vauxhall Astra as she crossed Kirkstall Road, at 11:50 BST on Wednesday.

Miss Lancashire, from Armley, was taken to hospital but died shortly afterwards. The driver of the car, a 26-year-old man, was not seriously injured in the collision.

Kirkstall Road was closed for several hours while West Yorkshire Police investigated the scene of the crash.
