A woman who went missing from a Leeds hospital on New Year's Eve has been found "safe and well", police said.

West Yorkshire Police said 33-year-old Carly Smith from Dewsbury was found in the Harehills area of the city on Sunday.

She left St James's Hospital on Wednesday evening but failed to meet her partner the next day.

Officers became concerned for her welfare after she had been missing for several days.
