Third arrest over Bradford mobility scooter rider death

A third man has been arrested over the death of a mobility scooter rider killed in a hit-and-run crash.

The 70-year-old man, named locally as Michael McDermott, was crossing Leeds Road, Bradford, when he was hit by a car on Friday. He died at the scene.

West Yorkshire Police said a 22-year-old man, from Bradford, had been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He was also arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and report an accident.

Police said two other men from Bradford, aged 34 and 21, arrested in connection with the investigation have been released on bail.
