Woman dies after 'parked' car moves outside Tesco in Pontefract

A 74-year-old woman has died after being hit by a parked car that "lurched forward" outside a supermarket.

Molly Wood, from Knottingley, died when the Kia Venga she was standing in front of struck her in Tesco car park in Pontefract, police said.

A 70-year-old woman, also standing in front of the car, was hit but was not seriously injured.

Det Sgt Ann Drury said the collision in Stuart Road at about 12:00 GMT on Wednesday had been a "tragic incident".
