Farnley murder probe after fatal stabbing

A man has died after undergoing emergency surgery for stab wounds.

The 27-year-old was pronounced dead at Leeds General Infirmary at about 06:00 BST.

Police have launched a murder investigation after the man was brought to the hospital in a car in a critical condition at 16:30 BST on Tuesday.

Detectives say he was stabbed near The Butterbowl public house in Butterbowl Drive, Farnley, shortly before being taken to hospital.

The scene has been cordoned off while officers carry out a forensic search.
