Portable toilet block stolen from farmland in Rothley

A portable toilet block has been stolen from a Leicestershire village.

Police said the block, which had been hired for an event, was on a trailer ready to be collected in Town Green Street, Rothley, when it was stolen.

The theft is believed to have happened at some time between Tuesday evening and early on Wednesday.

Appealing for witnesses, Pc Kevin Gray said whoever had taken the trailer would have needed a large vehicle to tow it away.

He said: "The block had been hired out for a private event in the fields and was due to be picked up on Wednesday.

"Whoever stole it would have required a large vehicle such as a 4x4 or something similar to tow the trailer away."

The green toilet block contained male and female toilets and a bathroom with the words "Regency Toilet Hire" on the side in gold lettering.
