Police have released a CCTV image of a robber who stole a cash bag being delivered to a bank in Leicester.

The man walked into the Barclays branch in Woodhill, Spinney Hill, on 19 October and snatched the bag from a security guard before escaping.

He is described as Asian, in his early 20s, of slim build, about 5ft 2in tall, and was wearing a distinctive baseball cap with a white "V" logo on the front.

Police said he ran away along Baggrave Street towards Spinney Hill Park.

Det Con Louise Rooke said: "The incident took place at a busy time and there were a number of people in the bank at the time. We would urge anyone who hasn't already spoken with police to do so.

"We are especially keen to speak to anyone who recognises the man in the footage - do you recognise the distinctive cap or have you heard any rumours about who was responsible for this crime?"
